We keep this short and plain. We collect as little as we can, we don't track you around the web, and we never sell your information.

Who we are

Welcome Page (welcomepage.co.uk) builds websites for UK nurseries, pre-schools and schools. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect and why

When you ask for a free website check

We collect your setting's name, your name, your email address and your website address, if you give one. We use them to look at your website and reply to you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: answering a request you made. If you go on to work with us, it becomes taking steps to enter into a contract.

When you email us

We keep your message and contact details so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.

If we contacted you first

We sometimes email nurseries, pre-schools and schools whose websites we think we can help with. We only use business contact details: the setting's name, business email, phone number, town, postcode, website and regulator ID. We find these in public sources: Ofsted, Care Inspectorate Wales and Care Inspectorate registers, public childcare directories, and the setting's own website. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in offering our services to businesses.

If you'd rather not hear from us, reply "no thanks" or email us and we'll stop straight away. We keep only your email address on a "do not contact" list, so we never contact you again by mistake.

When you visit this website

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and this site sets no cookies for visitors. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We use a small number of trusted providers to run our business:

• Cloudflare: website hosting, security and storage of form enquiries.
• Resend: sends us an email alert when you submit a form.
• Lark: our business email inbox.

They only process your information on our instructions. Some are based outside the UK. Where your information leaves the UK, it is protected by UK-approved safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.

How long we keep it

• Website check enquiries: deleted automatically after 12 months.
• Outreach contact details: deleted within 12 months if we don't hear back.
• "Do not contact" list: kept for as long as we contact businesses, so we can respect your wishes.
• Client records and invoices: for the length of our work together, then 6 years, as UK tax law requires.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• ask us to correct or delete it
• object to us using it, including to marketing at any time
• ask us to limit how we use it, or to send it to you in a portable format
