Nursery and school websites

We write, build and look after websites for nurseries, pre-schools and schools across Britain. Parents find what they need and book a visit. You don’t write a word or take a photo.

Made-up settings, real working websites. Every name and phone number is invented, and the photos are stock.

What parents notice first

Parents search on their phone, often late at night, often comparing three or four settings at once. They rarely complain about a website. They move on to the next one.

One full-time place is worth around £14,000 a year. If your website wins you one extra family, it has paid for itself many times over.

On the screenWhat they think
A “Not secure” warning next to your web address“Is it safe to send my details here?”
Fees and term dates from a few years ago“Are they even still open?”
“Lorem ipsum” or “Your title here” still on the page“Did anyone check this?”
Tiny text that needs pinching and zooming on a phone“I’ll look at the next one.”
A web address that leads nowhere“They must have closed.”
No website at all, just a directory listing“I can’t picture my child there.”

The same nursery, before and after

Drag the handle. Same setting, same information, but now a parent on a phone can find the fees, see the rooms and book a visit.

What we build

Nurseries, pre-schools and clubs

Built around the questions families ask, in the order they ask them.

Your inspection report
Your latest Ofsted, CIW or Care Inspectorate outcome, linked to the full report.
Sessions, fees and funded hours
Prices, session times and how funded hours work at your setting, in plain English.
Book a visit and waiting list
Short forms that land in your inbox. No logins for parents.
A day with you
Rooms, routines, naps, menus, allergies and how the key person works.
Your team
Who parents will meet, their qualifications and paediatric first aid.
Policies and safeguarding
Safeguarding, SEND, complaints and uncollected-child procedures, kept current.

Covers what the EYFS asks you to share with parents, written for your nation: Ofsted in England, Care Inspectorate Wales (with Welsh-language pages if you’d like them) or the Care Inspectorate in Scotland.

Schools and trusts

Primary schools, multi-site nurseries and academy trusts.

Key information
One menu for statutory information, so parents, governors and inspectors find it fast.
Ofsted and performance
Your latest report, plus your page on the Compare School Performance service.
Term dates and events
One calendar, kept current, that parents can check from the school gate.
Letters and newsletters
Post a letter home in a minute. Older ones are archived by term.
Admissions and open days
How to apply, key deadlines and your admission arrangements.
SEND and safeguarding
Your SEN information report, SENCO and safeguarding lead, never buried.

Everything on the DfE’s list of what schools must publish gets a place under one “Key information” menu, and we remind you before deadlines like the pupil premium statement each December.

Photos, without photographing children

Over half of headteachers are now considering taking identifiable pupil photos off their websites because of AI misuse. A warm website shouldn’t depend on them.

Your own photos, made the most of
Rooms, garden, your team, snack time from above. We pick, crop and colour-correct what you send so it looks its best.
Or a set of four AI photos
Illustrative images in your colours and room style. No real children, so no consent forms and nothing to take down when a family leaves.

Specialist school agencies charge around £295 plus VAT for a set of four AI photos. It’s included in the nursery plan if you need it. Every AI image is labelled as illustrative on your site, so parents are never misled.

About two weeks, start to finish

  1. Within 2 working days

    Free website check

Tell us your setting. We send a short, plain-English note on what parents see today, on a phone and on Google. No obligation.

  2. Week 1

    We write and build

Send photos and whatever you already have: a leaflet, a prospectus, a few notes. We write the pages and set up your forms.

  3. Week 2

    You check it, we launch

You review a private preview and ask for changes. Nothing goes live until you’re happy.

  4. After launch

    We look after it

Hosting, security, restore points and updates are handled. Your first month of email support is free; after that, a small change like new fees or a staff update is £25, and a new page is £60.

Who you’ll work with

You deal with one small team from start to finish. The people who check your current site build the new one, and answer your emails after launch.

We’re new to early years, not to building websites. Before Welcome Page, our team built NexxaScreen and NextSprints, platforms used by universities and thousands of students. We don’t have live nursery clients to show you yet, so we won’t pretend otherwise. Our first settings get our full attention on every page.

Want to see what a parent would see? Click around our three demo sites: a nursery, a childminder and a primary school.

Questions

Something else? Email hello@welcomepage.co.uk and a person will reply.

Guides: what a nursery website must include, publishing chargeable extras and what a nursery website costs. Childminder? See our £195 site.

Do I need to write all the words myself?

No. Send us what you have, like an old leaflet, your prospectus or a few notes, and we’ll write the pages in plain English. You check everything before it goes live.

We already have a website. Can you keep our web address?

Yes. We’ll move your existing domain across so parents and old links still find you. If you don’t have one, we’ll help you register it in your name.

Is hosting really free?

Yes. Your site runs on Cloudflare, the network that protects and speeds up a big share of the web, in a free account that belongs to you. Its free plan comfortably covers the traffic a nursery or school gets. In the rare case a site outgrows it, Cloudflare’s small paid plan is billed to you directly, and we’ll tell you well before it’s needed.

What happens when we need changes after launch?

Your first month after launch includes free email support, so new fees, a staff change or a wording tweak are no trouble while you settle in. After that, a small change, like updating your fees, adding a staff member or new term dates, is £25 and done within two working days. A new page is £60. Need it the same day, or something bigger? We’ll give you a price up front and you decide.

Can our staff update the site themselves?

Yes, if you want to. Every site comes with a simple editor for news, policies and photos, so routine updates cost you nothing. Most settings prefer to email us, and that’s fine too.

Do you use photos of the children?

Only with written parental consent on file, and never with names. If you’d rather not, we use photos of your rooms, your team and your garden, or a set of AI photos with no real children in them, clearly labelled as illustrative. Parents notice when a setting takes this seriously.

We’re tied into a contract with another provider. Can we still switch?

Yes. Tell us when your contract ends. We build the new site ahead of time, you approve it, and we move your web address across on the day, so there’s no gap and parents never see a broken page.

Do you work with settings anywhere in Britain?

Yes, in England, Wales and Scotland, with pages written for Ofsted, Care Inspectorate Wales or the Care Inspectorate. Everything happens by email and a shared preview link, so you can check pages between sessions rather than finding time for meetings.

Will parents find us on Google and Maps?

Yes. We set up or tidy your Google Business Profile so your hours, photos and reviews match your website when parents search for a nursery nearby.

Is the website accessible and GDPR friendly?

We build to WCAG accessibility guidelines, use no tracking cookies by default and keep enquiry form data to what you actually need.

What if we want to leave?

There’s no long contract. Your domain, your content and your hosting account stay yours, and we’ll help you hand over if you ever move on.

See what parents see

Tell us your setting. Within two working days we’ll send a short, honest note on what’s working, what isn’t, and what we’d change.

No website yet? We’ll show you what parents find today when they search for you. No sales call unless you ask for one, and the note is yours to keep.

Rather check it yourself first? Work through our nursery website checklist.

We only use your details to reply about your website. No mailing lists.
